Job Description

The Council holds an established property investment and operational portfolio principally comprising industrial, office and retail assets, and with some other miscellaneous assets, valued at c. 300m producing an annual rental income more than 19m. Rental income is a major contributor to the financial sustainability of the Council and the income received significantly exceeds that generated through the collection of Council Tax. Recognising the important role Property and Assets has within the council we are looking to recruit a Building Services and Compliance Manager within the Operational Portfolio Team to join a new permanent team of property professionals.



The post holder must be able to work well within a team environment as well as working on their own when needed. They will be working to ensure that the Operational Portfolio and other properties where appropriate have:


All necessary compliance certificates for M&E elements Undertake and review audits of fixed assets advise on M&E works requirements where necessary and possible develop small schedules of works Lead with BDBC's decarbonisation programme for property services

Being able to continue to develop and forge good working relationships with consultants, internal and external stakeholders' as well as colleagues within Property and Borough Developments is a must.
