Technology Budget Optimisation & Automation SME
Location: London (near Moorgate)
Day Rate: xc2xa3589.68pd Inside IR35 via Umbrella PAYE
Working Policy: Fully Office Based - 5 Days per weekDeerfoot Recruitment is working with a leading banking group to recruit an Budget Optimisation Expert for their Technology Department's financial optimisation and automation improvements, including expense budget management, financial performance analysis, and process enhancement. You'll provide recommendations to allocate funds and resources effectively while improving transparency over costs in what is currently a highly complex environment with legacy technologies, fragmented processes, and multiple vendors.Key responsibilities include:

• Analyse budget vs. actuals and provide insights to optimise spending
• Lead monthly financial management meetings with finance team
• Create meaningful commentary on MI for senior-level decision making
• Improve processes, governance, and visibility of spending and costs
• Collaborate with various teams to strengthen financial processes and reporting

• Enhancing financial forecasting, variance analysis, and decision-making processes.
• Managing the Service Catalogue to accurately reflect business consumption.
• Collaborating with leadership teams to improve financial literacy and drive FINOPS capability.
• Reviewing and enhancing budget control processes, workflows, and governance.

We are looking for candidates with:

• Proven track record in financial management, budget optimisation and cost optimisation
• Preferably familiarity with IT infrastructure and service management in technology
• Experience in process improvement and governance enhancement
• Analytical skills to monitor spending trends and analyse data effectively
• Ability to reach and advise senior stakeholders
• Autonomous, tenacious, and proactive in identifying improvements
• Tools such as PowerBI, Oracle Cloud Financials

This Inside IR35 contract role will run until September 2025 at which point there will be a chance to switch to permanent.
