BU Service Solution Architect

Location:

Join our team as a Solution Architect and lead the architectural vision and strategy for BU Service. This pivotal role ensures our systems, applications, and infrastructure are robust, future-proof, and aligned with business goals and industry best practices.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:



Architectural Vision & Strategy:

Define and oversee the architectural vision and strategy for BU Service, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. Define and own solution architecture to meet business and technical requirements.

Architecture Compliance:

Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices. Review and approve major architectural designs to ensure compliance with internal standards, policies, compliance requirements, and the strategic direction of the organization.

Solution Design:

Design scalable, secure, and efficient system solutions. Create and maintain architectural blueprints and comprehensive technical documentation. Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements.

Solution Implementation:

Guide and oversee development teams in creating sustainable, secure, and scalable systems, integrating software and hardware components in a cohesive and efficient manner, while providing technical guidance and mentorship.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements and align architecture with business goals. Collaborate with other architects to define and maintain the architectural blueprints and ensure integration between business units.

Communication:

Translate complex requirements into visual architectures that can be effectively communicated to non-technical audiences.

People Leadership and Development:

Mentor and guide architects and senior developers within the organization, promoting best practices in architecture design and implementation.

Risk Management:

Monitor and address technical risks and propose mitigation strategies. Direct the development of a BU-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan, ensuring architectural resilience and compliance.

Innovation:

Evaluate and recommend new technologies, methodologies, and tools to enhance system performance, security, and reliability. Investigate new technologies and architectural approaches for potential adoption, conducting proof-of-concept projects to assess their viability and impact.

Qualifications:



Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in software development and architecture. Strong knowledge of system design, cloud computing, and security principles. Experience with IoT technologies and platforms, AI, GenAI, and robotics (meriting). Proven leadership and team management skills. Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Experience with modern development frameworks and tools. Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies, SW quality assurance, and secure SW development lifecycle. Fluency in written and spoken English, as well as technical writing.

Reporting Line:

Reports to the Head of Technology, Business Unit Service, and functionally to the Head of Digital Services Solutions, Business Unit Service.
