Our tutors work flexibly and in a location that works best for them, minimum 1 hour session. If you are working over the summer, you must also be able to continue the role from September. Pay: £25-35/hour
For this position you will need:
- QTS;
- at least 2 years' experience teaching and assessing English and Maths in primary and/or secondary schools;
- at least 2 years' experience working with SEN special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, ADD, PDA and global developmental delay;
- extensive amounts of SEN specialist training;
- a Masters' degree in SEN (ideal);
- an outstanding understanding of how to develop social communication skills;
- a proven record of being able to heighten pupil's confidence, self-esteem and love of learning;
- 100% passion for education, commitment, reliability and honesty; to creatively apply differentiated techniques to planning and teaching;
- excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills;
incredible patience;
- an excellent knowledge of different learning styles and how to utilise these;
- the ability to deal with possible behaviour issues;
- the ability to work flexibly and attend meetings outside hours if necessary;
- to be a team-worker;
- a valid enhanced DBS check;
- a willingness to apply for public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
You will need to:
- plan and prepare lessons in accordance to student's individual needs;
- assess and monitor pupils' work and feedback to the Director of SENsational Tutors;
- report and assess pupil behaviour;
record students' progress and provide grades and written feedback;
- deliver tailored teaching activities to pupils on a one-to-one basis basis;
- make sure that the pupils that you support are able to engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity;
- support and assess the social and emotional development of pupils, reporting any issues as necessary;
- supervise pupil safety.
