The Role
Brand Hackers are fractional marketing teams for brands with big dreams. We build bespoke teams formed off our full time team & some choice freelancers who support brands scale. We need freelance or contract support to be able to give expert leadership to the brands who come to us, with big ambitions.
Brand Hackers are divided into three pods - brand, social and growth. Our Brand pod, where this role is supporting, is currently working for Fussy, Thunderbirds, Daily Dose juices, a new meringue brand launching soon and Rockface - to give you a flavour.

Formalise a brand positioning document
, using existing research, category insight, and updated mission, vision, and values provided by the client.
Develop a formal Tone of Voice (TOV) guide
by reviewing existing communications across email, web, blog, and organic channels, creating a structured guide with examples, do's and don'ts, and channel-specific guidance.
Audit current brand communications
while developing the TOV guide, suggesting small copy tweaks and improvements to better align tone and messaging across all touchpoints.
Conduct competitor and category desk research
, analysing messaging hierarchy, tone of voice, media presence, and communication strategy within the relevant market.
Deliver a customer and market opportunity analysis
, including market sizing, consumer behaviours, loyalty patterns, and identification of high-potential audience profiles, pulling findings into a clear, strategic document.
About you
Proven experience creating or formalising brand positioning and tone of voice guidelines, ideally across multiple channels (email, web, social, blog).
Experience auditing existing brand communications and recommending practical copy and messaging improvements.
Confident working across early-stage or evolving brands where materials may be incomplete, requiring strategic thinking to fill gaps.
Skilled at preparing polished, client-facing presentations and strategic documents with minimal input or supervision.
Experience with consumer start ups.
