We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper and Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero is essential for this role. Ideally you will hold a AAT qualification. You will play a crucial part in supporting the financial health of our organisation through meticulous record-keeping and reporting. In addition to this you will also be required to assist with the day to day admin of the company as directed by the office manager.
The successful candidate will ensure smooth administrative processes while maintaining accurate financial records.
Duties
Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and payments in a timely manner.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as required.
Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits to provide necessary documentation.
Ensure all financial practices adhere to company policies and accounting standards.
General day to day admin assisting the office manager
Requirements
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting environment.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with team members and external stakeholders.
A relevant qualification in finance or accounting would be an advantage but is not essential.
You will be required to be office based in our premises in Stapleford. We are ideally looking for someone to work 9am - 3pm, Mon - Fri, however this is negotiable for the right candidate, core hours would be 9.30am - 2.30pm.
Salary is negotiable
24,000 - 28,000 Pro Rata
dependent on experience and hours worked.
