About the role



Willen Hospice is seeking a knowledgeable and committed professional to join our Board as a Legal Trustee. This is a meaningful opportunity to bring your expertise to an organisation making a profound difference in the lives of people facing life-limited illness.



We are a dedicated hospice charity committed to offering comfort, dignity, and support to individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses. Our work is driven by empathy, clinical excellence, and a strong sense of community.



Our vision at Willen Hospice, is to be the lasting and thriving provider of free, compassionate care to all people affected by life limiting illness in our community of Milton Keynes and surrounding areas.



As a Legal Board Member, you will:



Support us in fully representing the growth and diversity of our city and surrounding areas.

Play a vital role in ensuring the Hospice operates within its legal and regulatory framework.

Support the Board and Executive Team in fulfilling its fiduciary duties and act as a trusted advisor on legal risk, governance matters and compliance.

Contribute to the strategic direction of the charity.

Serve as an ambassador for Willen Hospice, representing us at events and helping grow our network and influence.



We are seeking an individual who can offer:



Professional legal qualification and current or recent legal practice experience

Expertise in areas such as charity law, governance, regulatory compliance, contracts, or risk management

A strong sense of social purpose and a commitment to ethical leadership



Board members will typically dedicate 2-3 days per month, on a voluntary basis, to the role.
