Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Block Paver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and be proficient in the use of hand and power tools. As a Block Paver, you will be responsible for laying blocks and bricks to create durable structures, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

Lay blocks and bricks according to specifications, ensuring accuracy in alignment and level. Operate hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and placing materials. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and roofers, to complete projects efficiently. Perform masonry tasks such as mixing mortar and preparing surfaces for block laying. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations. Inspect completed work for quality assurance, making necessary adjustments as required. Assist in the training of junior team members in block paving techniques.

Requirements

Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry is essential. Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to the trade. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour for extended periods. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 weeks

Pay: From 25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
