The Platform and Data Engineering programme will equip you with the base engineering knowledge to excel in your new career in tech. The initial training is a broad, multi-discipline 4-week entry level programme, followed by further dedicated training to develop your Platform and Data Engineering knowledge.

You will gain experience across many of the sectors that BJSS works in, get hands-on with tech quickly, and gain an understanding of the different roles within engineering.

• As an Academy Engineer your role is to understand what technology challenges your clients are facing, and then find solutions to these challenges.
• You\'ll get to work with some of the brightest and best in the industry on some of the most exciting digital programmes around.
• We want you to make the most of your potential; to help you continue your learning, we\'ll help you achieve career-enhancing professional and industry certifications, including AWS, GCP, Azure, Power Platform and many more.
• You\'ll have the chance to sharpen your skills and specialise in Platform/DevOps Engineering and Data Engineering.
• Once you are assigned to a project the support and training opportunities don\'t stop. You will be assigned a technical mentor to support you with your development, you will also have access to a wide range of learning resources, and we will arrange regular meetups for you and your fellow Academy Alumni.

So what do you need to know before you apply?

We expect each applicant to understand the following fundamentals of programming - in any language:

• Variable Declaration (e.g. var x = 1)
• Basic Syntax (how to structure and write your code)
• Data Types (string, int, bool) & Data Structures (Arrays, Lists)
• Conditionals (If/Then/Else)
• Iteration (Loops)
• Debugging

In addition to the above, we expect each applicant to understand the following fundamentals of Cloud Engineering:

• The benefits of cloud computing
• Core cloud services (compute, databases, storage)
• The key concepts of:

• Networking
• Databases
• Monitoring
• Security

Application Process

Our application process has been designed to let your skills and potential shine through. We are keen to hear about the capabilities and experience you have gained in a previous workspace, education and/or extra-curricular activities.

Step 1: CV Screening: To start your application, you\'ll need to create an online profile, where you can then submit your CV

Step 2: Introductory Call: A call with a member of our recruitment team, so we can get to know each other better

Step 3: Technical Test: You will be sent an online coding test to complete in your own time at home. The test focuses on practical coding skills and you can be assessed in any language.

Step 4: Virtual Technical Interview: A video interview which will focus on previous experience and technical knowledge as well as a technical exercise where you will continue to work on a solution you have been asked to prepare prior to the interview.

Step 5: Assessment Centre: A short assessment centre focusing on culture fit and your teamwork skills and the opportunity to meet the team. Assessments days to be held in Early October.

Step 6: Offer: We will let you know the outcome of the recruitment process and any next steps
