Brief Job objective
Joining the Projects & Design Team, this role will cover the 'Bill of materials' (BoM) and 'routes & methods' processing on Specialist Heat Exchangers MRP system (Epicor). An ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of engineering within a fabrication/manufacturing environment with the ability to read engineering drawings. They will be computer literate with a methodical approach to work. They will assist the 3D Draughts team in drawing checking and creating BoM's which are used by Purchasing and Production Departments.
Role and responsibilities
Creating parent part numbers for new units, using the ERP system (Epicor).
Creating part numbers and building a Bill of Materials (BoM) for SHE units using drawings and 'Heat Exchangers Summary' (H.E.S) and 'Mechanical Design Summery' (MDS) information.
Assign methods of manufacture and input time schedules onto the system.
Calculate amount of paint required for units and assign relevant part numbers for paint and thinners.
Maintaining system records for material identification/specifications
Drawing control, ensuring updated drawings issued correctly in a timely manner to not affect production schedules.
Monitoring targets by working closely with the 'Projects Team' and '3D Draughts Person team leader' to ensure targets are met.
Issues are escalated in a timely manner for resolution.
Action 'Engineering Change Notes' (ECN) in a timely manner to support internal and external customers.
Attend daily production meeting and supply updates on job status.
General responsibilities for health & Safety.
Qualifications and education requirements
GCSE's Maths, English and Science. Grade C or above.
Preferred skills
Engineering qualification (HNC, HND) or time served engineering experience.
Previous experience of industrial cooler manufacture.
Experience of coordinating Engineering projects and sticking to deadlines.
Experience of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Access and Sharepoint.
Ability to read Engineering Drawings.
Assess the impact of deviations from the original specification (i.e engineering changes) and liaise with Sales where there are commercial implications

Additional notes
There is an opportunity for the right candidate to develop further over the next few years within the Drawing Office and train on design and drawing skills. However, this training can only commence once the BoM Coordinator role is being performed competently and consistently.
