The UK CIB HR Department supports CIB staff and managers in London, providing them with a full range of strategic advisory and transactional services (in terms of payroll, reward, pension and benefits, recruitment, career management, learning & development and employee relations). In regular contact with the Group HR Department of BNP Paribas S.A. (headquartered in Paris), CIB HR is the entry point for all CIB employees on any HR issue. The team comprises of circa 70 HR professionals.

The UK Group Pension, Benefits & Wellbeing team supports 7 BNP Paribas companies in the UK, covering 7,000 staff plus other workers (consultants, contractors and ex-pats). BNP Paribas operates an award winning and innovate benefits and wellbeing offering and leads best practice in both the banking sector and wider UK corporate world.

Job Purpose

Administer the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Benefits offering and manage the GIP/long-term absence programmes for HR.

This role may be carried out within a range of experience depending on the development of knowledge and skills in the role and the role-holder\xe2\x80\x99s ability to work with increased autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the UK Group Head of Benefits - Director, this HR professional will have broad HR & Reward experience and be comfortable working with various stakeholders on often complex, sensitive or strategic matters. This jobholder will be expected to:
  • Manage the UK flexible benefits platform with a key focus on development of the programme, employee engagement and risk and operational management
  • Responsible for the technical output of the Benefits team liaising with the HR Governance, Payroll, and HR Finance teams, leading regular BAU service meetings and managing the key supplier relationship with the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s flexible benefits service provider
  • Manage complex benefits projects across the group framework including TUPE transfers, divestments, new reward and wellbeing programmes, and business reorganisations. Identifies risks and leads on transitional arrangements and engagement with employees and senior HR and key business stakeholders
  • Oversee the day-to-day operational management of benefits arrangements, working with c. 40 suppliers across seniority levels to ensure high service levels, risk & operational standards
  • Contribute to, and support, the strategic direction of the team; co-ordinating project resources and acting as a senior support point for other team members and stakeholders across the BNPP Group. The individual needs to lead on industry best practice, not just follow it.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and senior contact point for HR Business Partners, payroll & support teams around benefits matters, escalations and change management processes. Also acts as an expert adviser to HR on complex staff issues related to ill-health and long-term absences.
  • Lead by example and supports the development of other team or project members
  • Participate in benefits surveys and carry out benchmarking with other organisations on benefits issues
  • Analyses benefits data and trends, reporting on KPIs as part of a quarterly dashboard in order drive innovation and inform future strategy
  • Act as a technical validator for all benefits invoices prior to payment
  • Support other ad hoc HR projects
  • Lead relationships with senior stakeholders both internally and externally
Qualifications

The Requirements
  • University-level degree (or equivalent)
  • Expert benefits knowledge
  • A good understanding of other HR-related practices such as in reward, payroll, pensions
  • Prior senior experience of supporting wider HR and in-house reward functions
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a senior benefits role, either in-house or within a benefits consultancy, including flexible benefits and exposure to pension schemes
  • A strong ability to translate technical matters in to language and solutions understood by non-practitioners.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills including the ability to manage upwards and take ownership
  • Be able to build good relationships with colleagues, employees and 3rd party providers, in particular experience dealing with C-suite level staff and business line heads
  • Experience of working on high profile projects (liaising with staff at various levels of seniority, other HR & functions colleagues, target acquisition companies, as well as external advisors & consultants)
  • Experience leading and managing large scale projects autonomously
  • Strong communication skills, ideally with experience of rolling out mass communications for reward initiatives and projects, with demonstrable impacts
  • Technical/data analysis & reporting skills including intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Demonstrable experience problem solving and implementing solutions
  • Be confident and comfortable making recommendations to (and challenging) team and HR management and representing the UK team across the business
