This is a great development opportunity for any newly qualified or existing band 5 occupational therapist who wants to embed their core skills and gain experience in an intermediate care setting.
Intermediate care will provide the post holder with the opportunity to deliver high standard of rehabilitation through occupational therapy interventions to patients in intermediate care stepdown units in various bed-based units across Dudley Borough. The post holder will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with a wide range of clinical needs and conditions, including orthopaedic, neurological, medical and surgical, as well as frail elderly co-morbidities. The post holder is required to work as part of a team committed to delivering and improving high standards of therapy within Dudley group NHS Foundation Trust.
There will be opportunities to rotate into other community areas to gain additional skills and knowledge as the Community OT rotation develops.

To provide occupational therapy assessment and treatment for patients in a community setting ensuring that a professional, high-quality service is delivered.
To liaise with patient, families and carers and the multidisciplinary team.
To liaise with colleagues in acute sector, social services and primary care, voluntary sector and other agencies.
To establish good communications within the therapy service, members of the multi-disciplinary team, patients and visitors.
To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service, often working without direct supervision. Access to advice and support from the team member(s) is available as required. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
