In a nutshell
As the Balance Sheet Management (BSM) Manager, you are part of the wider Treasury team and have primary responsibility for the efficient management of Liquidity resources and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) within Sainsbury\xe2\x80\x99s Bank. You\xe2\x80\x99ll ensure that the Bank always complies with internal risk appetite and external regulation whilst minimising cost and ensuring that there is a high level of technical rigour to the supporting analysis. You will deputise for the Head of BSM when required.
What you need to do
\xc2\xb7 Manage the delivery of the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Individual Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP), Funding Plan and the liquidity aspects of the Recovery and Resolution plan.
\xc2\xb7 Manage and maintain the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) process including proposing and socialising amendments to better drive business behaviour and effect risk-adjusted pricing.
\xc2\xb7 Monitor Liquidity daily by identifying and delivering plans to address any forecast shortfalls or surpluses, thereby ensuring that regulatory limits are always complied with and that liquidity costs are minimised within the limitations of risk appetite
\xc2\xb7 Co-ordinate monthly meetings with the business to ensure that balance sheet risks are fully understood, can be managed effectively, and are reflected in BSM modelling and reporting.
\xc2\xb7 Continuously develop management information for the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCo) and other business and risk forums and produce and present ad hoc papers as relevant topics and risks emerge.
\xc2\xb7 Manage all liquidity modelling, forecasting and management information and drive the continuous improvement of all liquidity related processes.
\xc2\xb7 Collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure all models/frameworks satisfy regulatory requirements, best industry practices and Bank\xe2\x80\x99s internal requirements
\xc2\xb7 Own and drive improvements in the monthly FTP process, FTP forecasting and monthly MI
\xc2\xb7 Assess the impact of new products & projects, from a Liquidity and FTP perspective
\xc2\xb7 Develop and maintain Liquidity and FTP models in the bank\xe2\x80\x99s forecasting and stress testing software and ensure the models perform according to requirements.
What you need to know and show
\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of the regulatory environment gained through significant experience of liquidity management and/or FTP frameworks within the banking industry
\xc2\xb7 In depth knowledge of the fundamentals of FTP to drive effective business behaviour
\xc2\xb7 Robust awareness of the control environment requirements within financial services
\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) or similar Asset and Liability Management/Liquidity/FTP forecasting and modelling software
\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of broader Asset and Liability Management principles and techniques
\xc2\xb7 Practical treasury modelling and reporting experience
\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Treasury markets, derivatives, and economics
\xc2\xb7 Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills with an ability to explain complex modelling at senior committees
\xc2\xb7 Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and communications skills \xe2\x80\x93 both written and verbal
