B7 Occupational Therapist -Guys Cancer rehabilitation transition service CARTS



Are you an Occupational Therapist interested in Cancer Rehabilitation?



This is an opportunity to join our innovative and unique Guy's Cancer Rehabilitation Transition Service. The service accepts referrals from the ward and larger cancer therapy team, carrying a small caseload of patients with complex cancer presentations who require an enhanced rehabilitation package while in the acute setting. It aims to improve functional outcomes, quality of life, and patient experience through increased rehabilitation frequency and supportive transfer into the community. We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with a passion for rehabilitation to join our forward-thinking Cancer Occupational Therapy service in this rewarding and clinically interesting role. Prior experience in the NHS would be highly desirable.



We would encourage Occupational Therapist working in different specialities with transferrable skills and an interest in this area of work to apply.



Main duties of the job:

Our team consists of a B7 Occupational Therapist, B7 Physiotherapist, and Band 4 Therapy Assistant. Supported by the clinical specialist and working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will have responsibility for overseeing the Cancer Rehabilitation Transition Service's caseload. This post sits within our large and supportive Occupational Therapy Cancer service, and a part of the role includes supporting juniors' learning and development within the service. We have a wide in-service core teaching program and supportive of further professional development needs. This post will allow you to develop and utilise your specialist clinical skills in the management of people with complex health and rehabilitation needs, while providing you with an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills, expand your professional development, and participate in the wider local and national agendas for cancer care.
