Position: DevOps Engineer - AWS
Location: Bristol or Cheltenham

Job Summary:
As a DevOps Engineer in the National Security space, you will play a critical role in our dynamic and talented team, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud-based infrastructure on the AWS platform. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing scalable and secure solutions, enabling efficient deployment, monitoring, and optimisation of our vital systems. Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and provide expert guidance on DevOps best practices within AWS.
• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment, testing, and monitoring processes.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform to ensure scalability, security, and consistency.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively implement solutions to optimize cloud infrastructure.
• Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud services, network connectivity, and system performance.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies and DevOps practices, proposing improvements to enhance our overall infrastructure.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer working with AWS cloud services.
• In-depth knowledge of building and managing CI/CD pipelines with tools such as AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, or Jenkins.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with security best practices and experience implementing security measures within cloud environments.
• Solid grasp of networking concepts and experience configuring virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, and security groups in AWS.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, or similar.
• Experience working in projects with high-security requirements and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of other cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
