Job Description


At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 - 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

Role:
You will be responsible for managing and delivering PR activity which includes media outreach, PR campaigns, and media events. You will also deliver both brand and product experiences for retailer and consumer audiences.

This role will drive brand delivery across Honda Motor Europe UK (HME-UK) automotive business with the commercial objective of maximising profitable volume.

You will positively influence the perception of HME-UK\'s brand with key media, influencers, opinion formers and business stakeholders resulting in advocacy-based sales.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Be an ambassador and spokesperson for the Honda Automobile brand in the UK.
  • Accountable for media relationship management for the UK Automobile business. Providing \'exceptional\' stakeholder management with both industry and outside media to create a positive public brand image for Honda across all PR communication channels.
  • Production of press releases, press packs, film content, award entries and photography, as directed by Automobile PR & Events Section Manager
  • Be a point of contact for automobile PR enquires from journalists, media, public and stakeholders.
  • Working with Honda Motor Europe (HME) and the Automobile PR & Events Section Manager, create a plan for launches and model changes at which you will host influential media, influencers and opinion formers.
  • Agency management to ensure they are delivering against business requirements and delivering positive return on investment.
  • Support, and in some cases lead, the delivery of automobile media, consumer and retailer events.
  • Pre-events, you will support in writing detailed event proposals to gain buy in from senior stakeholders on Return on Investment, timings, venues, suppliers and budgets. Post-event, you will support compiling the event de-brief to evaluate performance against objectives.
  • Support with the management of the automobile PR and Events budget, including financial administration responsibility. For example, raising Purchase Orders, processing invoices and updating budget logs.
  • Support with stakeholder management - including Honda associates, third parties, dealers, field team, management and agencies to share our plans and all the coverage that we get to motivate, excite and educate.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
Required
  • Demonstratable experience of working in the PR industry.
  • Track record of securing positive coverage via the PR channel.
  • Experience of owning and executing media and consumer events.
  • Creative mindset - willing to challenge convention and drive change.
  • Openness to flexible working as this role will require weekend working, evening entertaining and some travel.
  • Outstanding communications skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong influencing skills, able to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Extremely well organised, able to plan and manage several diverse tasks at once.
  • Able to measure, report and show return on investment on campaigns and activities.
  • Financially able with previous experience of budget management.
Desirable
  • Previous experience of the automobile media landscape.
