The Role
As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering complex automation solutions by:
Designing and programming automation systems, including PLCs, robotic cells, and CNC integrations.
Carrying out mechanical fitting, electrical wiring, and control panel assembly.
Integrating systems via RS232, RS485, Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, and TCP/IP protocols.
Developing handshake signals for seamless communication between machines and systems.
Programming FANUC robots, including offline programming and simulation.
Creating intuitive and advanced HMIs for operational efficiency.
Producing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
Staying up to date with the latest advancements in automation and cybersecurity.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking an experienced automation engineer with a strong technical background and a passion for innovation. Ideally, you will have:
Solid understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Expertise in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and safety programming.
Experience integrating automation systems with CNC machine tools.
Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols and handshake signals.
Skills in electrical wiring, panel building, and E-CAD schematic design.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software for mechanical layouts and system design.
Experience with robot programming, simulation tools, and HMI development.
Excellent IT literacy, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
An understanding of managed and unmanaged network systems and cybersecurity principles.
Qualifications
Level 4 qualification (or higher) in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Additional certifications in robotics, PLC programming, or industrial automation are highly desirable.
