We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in computer-aided design (CAD) and be proficient in various software applications such as Microsoft Office and AUTOCAD. As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in creating detailed designs and workshop drawings for natural stonework to a wide range of architectural projects. Your expertise will help ensure that our designs are accurate, efficient, and meet the required specifications of our clients.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed CAD drawings and manufacturing drawings to meet varied project specifications and requirements.
Collaborate with architects and building contractors to understand project needs and provide design solutions.
Utilise software such as AutoCAD, and Solidworks to create high-quality designs.
Review and revise designs based on feedback from team members or clients to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
Maintain an organised library of design files and documentation for easy access by team members.
Produce cutting schedules and workshop drawings for in house manufacture by CNC machines, Bridge Saws and stone masons
Participate in project meetings to discuss design progress and address any challenges that may arise.
Qualifications
Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, is essential. Knowledge or proficiency of 3d software such as Solidworks would be advantageous but on site training would be provided.
Strong understanding of building principles and design processes.
Experience in creating construction arrangement drawings and detailed drawings for various projects is preferred.
Excellent attention to detail with a strong ability to produce precise work under tight deadlines.
Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, architects, building contractors and clients.
A relevant qualification in engineering or architecture is advantageous but not mandatory.
