As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Auto Electrician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on specialised vehicles, ensuring they meet the high standards required for critical operations.

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Auto Electrician to inspect, install, repair, and maintain electronic systems in emergency service vehicles. This includes working on wiring looms, interior and exterior lighting, livery, AV systems, telematics, mobile CCTV, auxiliary batteries, and more. Full training and guidance will be provided for the specific systems we work on, along with an initial mentoring period to ensure you are fully equipped to deliver exceptional service independently.

Key Responsibilities:



Blue Light Systems: carry out full installation of Blue Light Systems in response cars. Attend required training for programming, fault finding and running repairs. Carry out full decommission and removal of Blue Light Systems from response cars at end of their service. Radio Communications: carry out full installation of radio communications in the full range of Trust vehicles. Attend all relevant training courses and certification. Carry out full decommission and removal of Radio Communications from Trust vehicles at end of their service. MDVS Systems: carry out full installation of MDVS Systems in the full range of Trust vehicles. Attend all relevant training courses and certification. Carry out full decommission and removal of the MDVS from Trust vehicles at end of their service. Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components in ambulance and emergency response vehicles, including lighting, sirens, communication equipment, and auxiliary power systems. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area.

Required Competencies and Qualifications:



IMI Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent on the job experience. Strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical maintenance and repair procedures. Full valid UK/EU driving licence. Proven experience as a vehicle technician, focusing on diagnosing and repairing diverse mechanical and electrical systems. Prior experience in a business vehicle maintenance environment. Extensive expertise in vehicle mechanical engineering and current maintenance methodologies.

Desirable Qualifications:



IMI Level 3 Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Training or equivalent. IMI Level 3 Blue Light Vehicle Installer Training or equivalent. Professional Membership with IRTE or IMI.

Specialist knowledge of safety practices and techniques in motor vehicle repair. Proficiency in diagnostic equipment and software, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Strong IT skills and familiarity with digital systems. Reliable, trustworthy, and organised with a strong work ethic. Excellent problem-solving skills and a solutions-driven mindset. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship with attention to detail. Ability to follow manufacturer's instructions and adapt to challenges through training and experience.
