The Opportunity




Practice area - Corporate Insurance

Main areas covered: Non-contentious corporate advice to insurers and other financial institutions, including: public M&A | private M&A | | business transfers | reinsurance | regulatory | joint ventures | restructurings
Key clients: Phoenix | Scottish Widows | Pension Insurance Corporation | Royal London | Canada Life | Power Corp | RSA | Swiss Re | Pool Re | Hiscox | Marsh McLennan | Ardonagh | WTW | Aon | Association of British Insurers

Primary Responsibilities:

Expected to lead and negotiate transactions with limited supervision Responsible for drafting discrete pieces of legal and regulatory advice for clients with minimal amendments Encouraged to adopt a client-facing role Supervise and develop junior associates and trainees 75%+ insurance-focused work, remainder other financial services / general M&A

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:



3+ years' PQE Excellent academics Demonstrable experience of some or all of the following: Insurance sector M&A and restructuring Reinsurance Part VII transfers Regulatory advice to insurers and/or other financial institutions Ability and drive to work on bespoke, big-ticket and complicated transactions Experience working on behalf of banking or other financial institutions would be highly beneficial
