The Opportunity





Arup's Science, Healthcare and Data Centre Team is a global network of Architects, Engineers and Specialist Consultants working with the largest and most innovative businesses in the sector. There will also be many opportunities for involvement in other projects including high spec industrial facilities and commercial projects.



Our clients include developers; retail and wholesale colocation providers and all the major hyperscale cloud services providers, pharmaceutical companies, universities and research institutions.



Our London team delivers projects across the UK, Europe, India and Africa. In these highly serviced buildings, our Architects appreciate that the engineering has to lead the design and the architecture follows the function - although there is room for design flair and innovation.



This is a very exciting opportunity to take a leadership role as part of a large and expanding team.



You will be given the support to develop your leadership skills with responsibility for leading projects and teams. In time, we would like you to have responsibility for managing client relationships as you develop towards Associate Director.



Responsibilities will include:


Leading and coordinating the design of various projects, taking them from initial brief through scheme & detail design to installation and commissioning support Provide technical guidance and design management on multi-disciplinary projects Mentoring and development of junior colleagues as part of the electrical discipline leadership Use and develop your management skills and experience in the delivery of design packages ensuring quality and excellence, on time and on budget Contribute to the recruitment, appraisal, performance, development, morale, and motivation of specific staff within the team/group Contribute to winning work by taking a role in the preparation and presentation of bids, and liaising directly with clients

We're looking for a candidate who:


Is a Chartered Electrical Engineer. Has extensive experience in a leadership role across teams of engineers on the development of building within the Science, Healthcare and Data Centre sectors. Has strong commercial and client facing skills and be able to represent Arup externally.
