Summary
A leading provider of high-end consulting and engineering services with a track record as one of the leading global Environmental consultancies for projects worldwide is looking to take on an experienced or aspiring Associate Director with skills in leadership and project management, looking to further their career in a large, well-respected consultancy and join an 80-strong Ecology team
The key features for this role include being an expert in a technical specialism with the ability to generate opportunities and tender documents, with project management experience (from enquiry to completion), and the confidence to develop client relationships.
As a multidisciplinary consultancy, you will work closely with colleagues from other teams including Planning, Placemaking, Engineering, Transportation and Asset Management, you will also work on a broad spectrum of projects and liaise with other teams on a regular basis.
The Associate Director will have the ability to think on their feet, steer the direction of the team and inform the long-term goals of the national Ecology team and wider business.
This is a great opportunity for someone with vision and ambition. and the role will also involve working closely with clients across a range of sectors including Residential, Defence, Infrastructure, Energy and Government Services
Seeking candidates with
- Degree in Ecology, Zoology, Botany, Biology, Environmental Science (with a strong ecology focus) or similar/equivalent.
- A minimum of 10 years demonstrable post-graduate experience preferably in a professional ecological consultancy role encompassing large rail/infrastructure projects.
- Full Membership of CIEEM or equivalent with expertise in protected species surveys.
- Ideally protected species licence holder
- Excellent reporting writing skills with experience in drafting & critically reviewing ecological reports; including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments and Method Statements.
- Experience of working closely with regulatory authorities and various stakeholders.
- Experience of managing a team of ecological consultants and/or third-party contractors.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to plan and deliver works in line with budgets and programme deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss ecological issues and capture feedback.
- Valid driving licence.
