WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, in the office.About this opportunityWe have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Climate Transition to join our dedicated Sustainability & Client Advisory (xe2x80x98S&CA) team. We're committed to supporting and accelerating our own, our colleagues and our clients transition to a more sustainable economy. Our ambition is to deliver the best quality sustainability support and ESG financing to our clients.Your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Assess credibility of client transition plans against sustainability frameworks, climate/ESG policy and regulation, and net zero technology developments.
  • Effectively summarise sector trends, Insights, enablers, and barriers to ensure that transition assessment outcomes are understood and appropriate managed to drive impact.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis and management to support colleagues in research, upskilling and assessment for climate & sustainability strategic advisory and net zero origination.
  • Support building out specialist technical capability in CIB in response to the UKs net zero transition, delivering on the Banks ambition to reduce our financed emissions 50% by 2030.
  • Enable delivery of NZBA sector targets & transition strategies, formulating concise reviews and clearly articulated findings on ESG market & sector developments.
  • Support technical delivery of Net Zero Origination, client financing transactions and advisory mandates.
  • Promote and broaden our ESG technical capability, in delivering thought leadership on the emerging strategic sustainability challenges and opportunities facing our clients.
  • Ensure effective governance capability having confidence to challenge constructively and work with any local regulators in an open and collaborative manner.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of cross-sector trends in Sustainability, ESG and climate change, and be able to optimally disseminate information to clients and key partners.
  • Knowledge of the ESG reporting landscape for Corporates & Financial Institutions.
  • Broad understanding of key frameworks and standards in the sustainability sphere, including climate policy, net zero transition technologies and market / scenario analysis.
  • Track record of strategic capability in ESG, climate and sustainability, coupled with technical proficiency in data analysis and management including Excel and PowerBI.
  • An enthusiasm for delivering a Just Transition for LBG and our clients with a deep understanding of the trade-offs and consequences If not achieved.
