We have an exciting opportunity to join our Financial & Data Science Modelling team as an Associate Data Scientist.The Financial & Data Science Modelling team are a close-knit and friendly team based out of our Swindon, Northampton and London offices and this role will involve supporting the ongoing development and maintenance of financial and business machine learning models. At present, these models focus on two development areas: the forecasting of Energy Performance Certificates for use in forecasting metrics for climate change risk; and the identification of personal current accounts being used for business use which is against the terms of use of the product and can be an indicator of fraud.On a day to day basis we use tools like python and SAS to develop and maintain our complex suite of models. The models themselves are based on advanced machine learning techniques such as, but not limited to, gradient boosting, catboost, and random forests. You will have some exposure to these tools and techniques however, we will also provide you with the training and opportunities to further develop your skills into a well-rounded risk modelling professional.Nationwide is making significant investment in technology expanding tools available to us (including SAS Viya and Databricks), giving you the opportunity to work in innovative ways to deliver real business benefit.
