Assistant/Associate Professor, Sociology and Mixed Methods Our Mission
The London Interdisciplinary School was founded with the belief that knowledge - and the need for knowledge - crosses borders. Tackling complex problems like climate change, the ethics of artificial intelligence, or wellbeing in the workplace requires reference to more than one subject. We need to be hybrid. We need to have range.
This isn\'t about defying \'conventional\' knowledge. It\'s about creating innovative and creative educational experiences to develop a broad, modern skillset. It\'s about tackling real-world problems. And embracing and driving change.
Our interdisciplinary community consists of optimists who want to connect the dots. We\'re educators, students, entrepreneurs, professionals, and activists. We\'re open-minded, creative, and curious.
About the Role
We at the London Interdisciplinary School are now in our third year of operations, and 2024 will be the year of our first graduating cohort. The successful applicant for this post would therefore be joining us at an exciting time of development, growth and stabilisation.
We are looking for a Sociologist with Mixed Methods (quantitative and qualitative) expertise to join our growing faculty.
This description of the role is deliberately broad as we seek interdisciplinary mixed methods sociologists with intellectual vision and energy to build out the role from within our existing interdisciplinary faculty.
You will join a team within the faculty teaching a broad range of qualitative research methods (from social sciences, the humanities and the arts) and will also have a key role in thinking about how to combine quantitative and qualitative methods in teaching and student project work. Your teaching will be across undergraduate, masters and professional development programmes.
We welcome outstanding applicants at any stage of their career, who can develop a unique and high-quality offer in these areas. We seek entrepreneurial academics, in the widest sense. The post is for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor. Salaries are aligned with the wider university sector and may range from approx \xc2\xa340,000 to \xc2\xa360,000, depending on experience.
