Working within the Faculty of Engineering, Computing & the Environment (ECE), you will be responsible for managing the Engineering workshops within the Roehampton Vale Campus, including organising the co-ordination and supervision of technicians and overall operations, including support of student learning, teaching, research, and commercial activities principally within the Engineering workshops.
You will contribute to the strategic planning, resourcing, capital programs, risk management, quality assurance and marketing of ECE activities including procurement, order placement and monitoring.
The Person
You will need to be a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual, ready to contribute to the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the faculty\xe2\x80\x99s laboratories. You will contribute to the learning experience of students by providing guidance on the use of resources and promoting an excellent understanding of laboratory practices and relevant H&S issues.
You will be able to liaise with external organisations and suppliers and you possess strong interpersonal, written and communication skills with excellent organisational and analytical skills. You have good IT and planning skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
You will be qualified to Degree, HNC or equivalent/higher professional qualification in Aeronautical or Mechanical engineering or related subject or have experience of managing a team of Engineering technicians. A strong working background of technical and managerial skills is essential.
