You will act as mentor for colleagues and take a lead in the induction of new staff. You will be expected to lead and develop areas of work within the team.You will stay up to date with relevant legislation, law and best practice and we continue to develop continued professional development via excellent training opportunities.You are an experienced front-line children's social worker who is committed to working alongside the team manager to provide support for the Social Workers and Child Social Care Assessors in a fast pace and supportive environment.You are free-thinking and confident in decision making which will be demonstrated in your excellent management oversight on referrals received by the team.You will be supportive and passionate to assist the manager to develop a high performing team, and to support in the development of staff to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.You will have advanced communication skills, you will be experienced in chairing meetings and previous experience of managing complex cases.You will manage a pod of 3/4 social workers undertaking all aspects of child protection work, comprehensive assessments, Child Impact and Section 37 Reports.The roles and responsibilities will include supervising Social Workers within the allocated pod to include undertaking Sect 47 and allocated assessments.
