Job Description


Full time, 37 hours a week. Working Sunday to Thursday, 11.15am to 19.15pm.

Full drivers\xe2\x80\x99 licence and access to a vehicle is a requirement for this role (Milage is paid at HMRC rate)

You will be working as part of a team to provide support young parents their children and young people that use this service. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will complete daily welfare/client wellbeing checks across our dispersed buildings
  • You will complete daily building checks in line with the shift planner to ensure our buildings are safe and well maintained
  • Lead on the preparation of voids for relet including flagging and processing maintenance issues and general cleaning tasks.
  • You will provide key work support to our Emergency Bed clients during their stay
  • You may support clients by prompting and helping them to attend appointments
  • You will encourage their involvement in personal progression in the form of education, training, employment activity or volunteering.
  • You may help them develop their practical skills in areas such as budgeting, shopping, cooking and housework, laundry, health and hygiene
  • Empower clients to achieve the outcomes they identify as desirable for independent living including involvement in practical tasks within the hostel such as basic maintenance / room decoration
  • Involve clients in the smooth running of their living environment
  • Help to maintain a welcoming, safe environment, identifying and minimising all potential risks to users of the premises and the organisation and property by completing daily building checks
  • You will monitor CCTV in our dispersed buildings and record and feedback significant findings to the keyworkers
  • Maintain client records using relevant systems to a good standard
  • Work in accordance with the Health and Safety regulations and all policies and procedures as well as complete any H&S checks in our buildings as required
  • Attend supervision, appraisal, training and meetings as directed which may be outside your normal working pattern
  • Any other reasonable task as requested by a member of staff
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

Previous experience in this type of work is not essential but you will have a real passion for wanting to work with homeless people. Your values will match ours, you will be committed to helping others and enjoy the real job satisfaction that this brings.
  • Clear verbal and written English
  • Good IT and keyboard skills
  • Polite, assertive manner, ability to self -motivate
  • Passion for working in a client/customer facing role
  • Knowledge of the benefits system and tenancy legislation
  • Have an interest and genuine concern for homelessness and related issues
  • Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies
  • Full drivers\xe2\x80\x99 licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role

We support 16-65 year olds. Our services include outreach to rough sleepers, supported accommodation (direct access hostels, move-on accommodation, and resettlement flats), day centres, community support, housing first and landlord support services.
