This role is ideal for those who already have commitments but want to gain experience working within the field of Education and Sports Coaching.
This role requires an assistant Sports Specialists/ Coach to support the delivery of outstanding Lunch and After School provision across our partner primary schools.
Our objective is to create a positive physical environment to engage all participants in Physical Activity, developing their techniques and skills across a variety of Sports. The ideal candidate will possess experience in sports coaching and a commitment to supporting the development of our young participants.
Responsibilities
Support the Lead Sports Coach throughout after school clubs with an enthusiastic and approachable manner.
Foster PSP's Safeguarding and Child protection policy across all sessions.
Assist with registers at the start of sessions and on collection.
Help set up equipment at the start of sessions and pack away at the end.
Reinforce PSP's behaviour management throughout sessions.
Ensure that all sessions align with Risk Assessments, ensuring health and safety at all sessions.
Referee games and create a fun environment when doing so!
Experience
Proven experience in sports coaching or a related field is essential.
Knowledge of the specific sport being coached, including techniques, strategies, and rules.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and motivate young participants effectively.
Experience working with diverse age groups and skill levels is desirable.
A relevant coaching qualification or certification would be advantageous but is not mandatory.
