Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, professional Assistant Spa Manager to join our award-winning team at Stobo Castle Health Spa.

Stobo Castle Health Spa is a family-run business nestled among the beautiful Scottish Borders countryside, located just outside the town of Peebles.

As Assistant Spa Manager you will be responsible for leading the Spa therapy and laundry team with the Spa Manager to deliver an exceptional service and take pride in creating the perfect destination for a peaceful and luxurious visit, along with the Spa Manager you will play a key role in the Stobo Castle's brand vision, success and guest expectations. We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented and positive individual, who has a huge passion for the Spa Industry.

You will be responsible for:



Support the Spa Manager in managing the overall spa operations. The ability to re-evaluate department processes to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Oversee recruitment. Assist Therapy supervisor and department trainers in the training of new starts, ensuring that they have the necessary skills to perform their duties with the maximum efficiency and in the most productive manner. Complete 121s with the team, assisting in career progression and the overall wellbeing of team members. Deal with the completion of therapy rotas, holidays requests and other requests in a timely manner. Be responsible for the cleanliness of the spa and is kept to a high standard. To ensure that the Department operational budget is strictly adhered to, that all costs are controlled, and expenditure approved. Provide support to the Spa Manager to develop and implement strategies to increase spa revenue and client satisfaction. Monitor the cost of product and correct usage of therapists Monitor therapist performance KPIs and guest feedback to tailor support. Ensuring Health & Safety requirements are always met. Work closely with other managers and supervisors within the department to guarantee smooth running of the day-to-day operations. Set an example at all times in standards of professionalism, attitude and appearance as required from the staff. Conduct weekly department inspections and report findings. Ability to stay up to date with industry trends and insights.

Essential skills and knowledge:



Previous recent experience of working in a Spa Management or senior role is essential. Can analyse data and KPIs with the ability to make key department decisions is essential. Have a strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations within a Spa. A highly motivated candidate possessing an immense sense of pride in their work, and meticulous about delivering the highest standard for our guests. Welcoming and interacting with our guests with a warm, positive and professional attitude to meet and exceed expectations. Exceptional communication, with a passion to lead and inspire a team through coaching, training, and positive communication to ensure we deliver exceptional services consistently, and our team develops and grows in skills and ability. Excellent planning and organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects and prioritise workload. Must be willing to undertake all essential training including first aid training.
