Runnymede Borough Council is looking for caring and enthusiastic individuals to join a small team of committed staff at our Social Centres in Addlestone and Woodham.
As part of this role, you will be expected to provide a warm and friendly welcome to one of our vibrant facilities. We offer a range of engaging and innovative services, along with a variety of activities for the residents of Addlestone and the surrounding areas.
It would be useful if you have previous experience of working with and understand the needs of older people. You will be able to provide assistance to visitors in accessing the centre facilities and to enable personal care if required. Therefore, it is essential you have well-developed people skills, patience and the ability to empathise.
In addition, you will be required to deputise for the Centre Manager in their absence and be responsible for the smooth running of the Centre, including managing a team of staff and volunteers. Some experience of managing staff and/or volunteers is required, as is the ability to carry out basic administration tasks, along with a basic level of IT skills.
You will be a flexible and organised team player, able to work on your own initiative and keep calm under pressure.
This role will occasionally involve assisting with providing rest centre facilities in the event of a civil emergency.
As you will be working with vulnerable adults an enhanced DBS check is required for this role. A full, clean driving license will also be required.
