ASSISTANT PAYROLL MANAGER



Staines-upon-Thames | 37k - 45k + Bonus | Full-time (37.5 hrs/week)

What you'll be doing:-



Support and provide cover for the Payroll Manager in overseeing the accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees (currently 1,200 employees across 130 remote sites plus head office). Process payroll changes, including starters, leavers, pay amendments, contract changes, and TUPE transfers. Perform in-year equated pay calculations. Review and validate payroll data, including site timesheets, overtime, pay adjustments, and statutory payments Prepare payroll journals and ensure accurate payroll records are maintained for auditing and reporting. Assist in managing the company's pension schemes, including Auto-Enrolment and Local Government Pension Scheme compliance. Act as a key contact for payroll-related queries from employees and managers, resolving issues efficiently. Work with the Payroll Manager to improve payroll processes and efficiency.

What you'll bring:-



Strong payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume payroll environment (1,000+ employees). CIPP qualification (or working towards) or equivalent payroll experience. Good understanding of UK payroll legislation, statutory payments, tax, NI, and pensions. Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (including formulas, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables). High numeracy skills with strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, with confidence in handling employee queries professionally and with courtesy. Experience of TUPE, equated pay and IRIS Cascade would be advantageous but isn't essential.

SALARY




Salary 37K - 45K per annum plus bonus

HOURS




37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The role is based at our prestigious riverside offices in Staines-upon-Thames
