We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Manager to join our team at The Big Beach Cafe, Hove's most loved community Cafe. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe as we are growing every day. You will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional service. You will work closely with the General Manager and Shift Leader Team to enhance guest experiences and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency. The day to day is the biggest challenge as we can go from being a empty cafe to having a line around the Lagoon in minutes!!!
Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing daily operations to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Supervise staff across various departments including culinary, food preparation, and bartending.
Train and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the establishment.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with the management team to develop strategies for improving service quality and operational efficiency.
Experience
Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant management is essential.
Background in food production or culinary arts is highly desirable.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse team.
Experience in food preparation or bartending would be advantageous - BUT NOT NECCESSARY :)
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
