Our modern, free hold, business with six sites, our own cask and craft brewery, and gin distillery is looking for an Assistant Manager to join the team at one of our Barnsley sites.
It is a position that requires someone who is passionate, personable, energetic and capable of delivering excellent customer service and achieve high standards in all aspects of the operation. The ability to work independently is crucial.
We are looking for someone who has a passion and knowledge of our products; from cask, and craft keg beer, gin and cocktails.
You must be able to provide customer service which is prompt, helpful, and engaging so having great social skills is essential. You must have a genuine interest in learning about our products and keep up to date with the changing offers.
Your Role:
Delivering excellent customer service, exceeding their expectations and achieve exceptional customer satisfaction results
Assist and support other management in effectively running the pub. This includes being aware of and proactive about the condition of the physical building inside and out.
To contribute towards the content of subscribed social media platforms
To be 'hands on'
To maintain all company procedures, food standards and health and safety policies
To manage and maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness around all areas of the pub.
Adherence to the clear company cash handling, storage and banking procedures.
Operational responsibilities
Knowledge/responsibility for weekly beer line cleaning and cellar management.
Bringing fun and enjoyment to the service team whilst ensuring the service level remains professional with high standards of personal appearance and attitude.
Identifying new ways to improve the guest experience and, in conjunction with other management, introducing these to the pub.
Dealing with any customer complaints (either written or verbal) in an assertive, pleasant and totally professional manner to ensure that the situation is resolved to the complete satisfaction of the customer.
To understand and follow company policy and procedures with all personnel matters.
Commercial
To understand weekly sales vs wage reports and act accordingly to reduce over or understaffing on shift.
To manage or assist with the management of bar stock at the pubs to ensure stock holding and rotation is efficient and wastage is minimised.
Understanding and correct use of the company operating systems for staff rota, online ordering and reporting.

Proficient in IT with an understanding of spread sheets, word processing and social media
It is essential that you are able to work primarily evenings/ weekends and holidays
