An exciting hands-on role, working closely with your Lead Horticulturalist, offers the opportunity to work on some top end domestic and commercial gardens. Soft landscaping experience required; some horticultural knowledge is essential with a love and enthusiasm for plants and gardens; a desire to learn and develop is vital. You will need to be good at communicating and enjoy being part of a close-knit team, whilst being able to show initiative. Driving is essential as there will be opportunity to cover maintenance runs with increased responsibility.
Job description:
oWeeding and seasonal pruning and planting
oHedge cutting
oLawn mowing and border edging
oWatering
oIrrigation installation and repair
oPlanting of annuals and bulbs
oAssist in the control of pest and disease
oSupport the Lead Horticulturalist to ensure that your gardens reach full potential
oEnsure all tools, materials and plants are taken to site when required.
oSupport in the daily completion of job sheets highlighting future requirements.
oFlag any issues onsite to the office to mitigate client complaints.
oAssist in day-to-day maintenance of yard.
oEnsure that the van is kept clean and tidy with a full set of tools. Reporting any problems immediately.
oBe punctual and look tidy and presentable.
oCover other maintenance runs when required.
Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
Attend staff meetings.
You will need:
2 years + horticultural knowledge
Experience of using power tools and maintaining gardens
A desire to develop and learn
To be highly organised and efficient at time management.
Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with clients, operations team and designers.
UK driving licence essential
Right to live and work in the UK
Good level of spoken English
Horticultural qualification desirable
