The Opportunity
We are seeking the right leader to be our new Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for safeguarding, behaviour and attendance. The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher, a caring advocate for all children's safety and wellbeing and an inspiring, empathetic leader. This is a full time role, but 4 days could be considered for the right candidate.
The role of the Assistant Head is to develop and lead safeguarding and pastoral care across the school, including behaviour, attendance and well-being. To be the designated teacher for looked after children, previously looked after children and those in kinship care. To be a visible presence in the school, supporting colleagues in embedding the Behaviour and Motivation policy and leading on safeguarding as the designated safeguarding lead (DSL).
If you join us, a typical day will be very varied but may include working directly with children and their families, supporting teachers with writing personal support plans, managing conflict, making referrals or teaching in a classroom. It is a really varied role.
About You
You are likely to have gained excellent behaviour management skills and have provided impactful support to colleagues through your career or personal experience. You will be able to bring to us commitment to all children achieving their best and excellent organisational and people skills. The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships with colleagues, children and families. They will be kind and curious. .
You will have Qualified Teacher Status and some leadership experience.
