40,000 - 45,000 per annum (pro-rata if part-time) depending on the experience and skills of the successful candidate

Role Description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Accountant to join our finance team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract, with a focus on VenCap fund accounting and reporting. This role supports essential financial operations including quarterly reporting, cash management, compliance monitoring, and investor communications. The successful candidate will also contribute to data automation and visualisation efforts in collaboration with the IT team. The role is advertised as full time, though we are open to applicants who may wish to work part time (30 hours) over 4 days per week.

Qualified by experience, part-qualified or with a professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ICAEW, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT) Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis skills Experience in fund accounting or investment management environments is advantageous Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI is a plus Ability to meet tight deadlines Collaborative mindset and ability to liaise effectively with finance, IT, and external stakeholders
