The UCL GOS ICH, together with its clinical partner Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, forms the largest concentration of children's health research outside North America. About the role
------------------
The Assistant Finance Manager is an essential member of the Institute's finance team. The role is responsible for the management of the core finance team and its activities overseeing tasks and delivery within this area.
This includes working closely with the Finance Manager and having ownership of parts of the institute's budgets and forecast, where it is essential to work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs whilst ensuring these align with the University's requirements.
The postholder will lead on other accounting activities such as monthly journals to reflect an accurate position for our reporting, understanding subsequent variances and discussing with the Finance Manager and reconciling and clearing our suspense account.
The postholder will manage two Finance Officers.
About you
-------------
The successful candidate will be educated to A Level (Minimum of 2 subjects at grade C or above), or have equivalent skills in finance.
They will have experience of budgeting/forecasting and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
They will be customer focussed and be able to provide a professional service to multiple stakeholders. They will be able to meet deadlines, manage their own workload and have experience of line management responsibilities
