Entry level \xe2\x80\x93 Assistant Driller / Site labourer
Newmarket, Cambridgeshire
Role description:
Arcadis are looking for a new Assistant driller / Site Labourer to be based from our Newmarket facility. The position will involve working throughout the UK across a variety of sites and sectors including manufacturing, petrochemical, and construction environments.
No previous experience in land drilling is necessary as this is an entry level role with great scope for promotion through to lead driller in the future, this role requires someone who enjoys working outside in a wide variety of site environments.
As an Assistant Driller you will operate in a two man team supporting the Lead Driller to complete drilling projects across the UK and occasionally in Europe, This will include driving to the drilling site, setting up and advancing boreholes using a range of drilling equipment (rotary drilling, dynamic/windowless sampling), collecting samples, installing monitoring equipment, making the work areas safe, following H&S procedures and other ad hoc duties. You will receive training from day one to become a competent Assistant Driller and will be enrolled on an NVQ on completion of your probationary period. For those wishing to progress, further in-house training, Apprenticeships and NVQ\xe2\x80\x99s in Land Drilling will be available to allow you to work towards becoming a qualified Lead Driller.
Role accountabilities:
The role will require you to travel to sites across the UK during the working week and stay local to the drilling site Monday-Friday. PPE and Single Accommodation/Travel expenses will be provided.
Please note that, although the majority of work will be away, daily commuting to the depot will be required; therefore, the successful candidate will reside within a reasonable commute from Newmarket.
