We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Assistant Dance Instructor to join our growing team in
Tilehurst
. As an Assistant Dance Instructor, you will support the lead instructor in delivering
street dance
classes to students of various ages and skill levels. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves working with children, has a passion for street dance, and is eager to develop their teaching skills. For the right candidate, this role could lead to more hours and the opportunity to train and develop into a Lead Instructor. This could be the start of a full-time career in dance instruction for the right mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the lead instructor in teaching street dance classes to children and teenagers.
Learn the MF Dance curriculum and teaching methods.
Support students in learning choreography, technique, and performance skills.
Be willing to lead parts of the class independently with support.
Help maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Provide individual attention and guidance to students as needed.
Assist with creating warm-ups and choreography when needed (with support).
Assist with class preparation and set-up, including music, props, and equipment.
Ensure the safety and well-being of students during class.
Help with administrative tasks, such as attendance tracking and student progress notes.
Assist with organising performance opportunities and events.
Qualifications and Skills:
A passion for street dance and teaching.
Previous experience in dance (either as a student or instructor).
Ability to work well with children and young people.
Strong communication skills and a positive, friendly attitude.
A proactive and enthusiastic approach to assisting in dance instruction.
Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Desirable:
Dance teaching experience.
Experience in working with children in a teaching or coaching role.
Ability to assist with choreography or create dance routines.
Hours:
Part-Time 3 hours per week initially.
Classes are every Monday evening including bank holidays.
Ongoing training, support and workshops are available at weekends throughout the year.
There is an opportunity to increase hours and develop into a full-time role as a Lead Instructor for the right candidate.
