Assistant Accountant
.
About the Role
Working closely with other departments across the company, this is a hands-on and varied role that will focus on core accounting processes, primarily purchase ledger and client invoicing while offering the opportunity to develop into broader areas of transactional finance.
Working as part of a
small, collaborative Finance Team
, supporting day-to-day finance operations.
Building strong working relationships
with the
Sales, Property Management, and other internal teams
to ensure seamless financial processes.
Managing the
purchase ledger, processing supplier invoices and preparing weekly payment runs
.
Coordinating with internal departments to ensure
accurate, timely processing and approval of invoices
.
Updating our property management software
(Arthur)
and accounting software
(Xero)
.
Preparing and issuing remittance advices.
Managing and reimbursing staff expense claims.
In line with the flexible nature of a small finance team, and with support from the Financial Controller, you will also be involved in other tasks, such as:
Sales ledger
- generating and issuing invoices, allocating receipts, and liaising with clients.
Supporting
credit control
activity.
Assisting with bank reconciliations and internal account checks.
Assisting with internal and external audit.
General finance-related admin.
This role has
capacity to expand
depending on your workload, capability, and appetite for growth.
Requirements & Skills
Essential:
Experience working in a purchase ledger or similar transactional finance role.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Good numeracy and solid Microsoft Office (especially Excel) skills.
Curious, analytical mindset and proactive problem-solving attitude.
Ability to stay calm under pressure and meet deadlines.
Team player with great interpersonal skills, internally and externally.
A friendly, can-do attitude and professional communication skills.
Discretion and confidentiality as standard.
Desirable:
AAT qualification (or working towards)
Experience using Xero and Arthur software (or ability to learn quickly).
