Electricity North West is looking for an experienced and dedicated Asset Protection Manager to ensure the effective management, mentoring, and leadership of the Asset Protection team, who, in turn, ensure that our operational assets (including land and property) are protected. This full-time Asset Protection Manager role is based in Salford and comes with a salary of up to \xc2\xa366,752 per annum (depending on experience) and excellent benefits.

Our role

The role covers the entirety of our operational region and to succeed the successful candidate must be multi-faceted and be able to liaise with various departments across the business as well as with the Head of Land Rights and Consents to determine our potential future needs from a land rights perspective, particularly as we move towards Net Zero. Leading on from this, it will be a critical element of the role to plan how we meet the needs of the business, ensuring that we are in the best possible position to protect and secure our assets and operational property.

In your first few weeks in this Asset Protection Manager role, you can expect to:

• Provide support to the business where our rights are legally challenged or threatened
• Develop processes / procedures as deemed necessary for the success of the Asset Protection and wider Land Rights and Consents Team
• Manage any contractors or consultants instructed on Asset Protection / Property Legal matters
• Supervise the acquisition, renewal, alteration, and disposal of all land rights managed by the Asset Protection Team.

To succeed in this Asset Protection Manager role, you will need proven experience as a Chartered Surveyor (rural or commercial pathway). You will also need:

• To be educated to degree level in a relevant subject, such as Law, Geography, Estate Management, Rural Surveying
• An in-depth understanding of the Electricity Act 1989 and all other supporting legislation essential to function
• To be a confident communicator, able to engage in complex negotiations with commercial implications.
