Fixed Term until 31st March 2026
Leading a small team of two environmental wardens working with the community on environmental enhancement projects.
To promote and establish as a primary objective within all of the Council's services; the obligation to enhance biodiversity in accordance with the Nature Recovery Plan (2019-2024). To communicate effectively with elected members, staff, customers, interest groups and the wider public the priorities set out within the Nature Recovery Plan through various means such as social media, presentations, meetings etc.
To work with operatives to establish and implement maintenance regimes that aid pollinators thereby bringing about a change in the way the environment is perceived and managed for the benefit of nature.
To develop a policy document for the management of grassland and open spaces to enhance and protect biodiversity.
To work with the council's biodiversity officer and assist with the Local Nature Partnership projects.
