Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Limavady require a Arts & Cultural Facilities Officer to join their team.

Hours - 37hrs per week

Location - Limavady

Rate - \xc2\xa316.25 increasing to \xc2\xa318.00 after 12 weeks

Duties: * To assist the Arts Services Development Manager in the management and development of RVACC/FF including human, physical and financial resources to achieve the aims and objectives contained within the Cultural, Arts and Heritage Strategy.

  • To develop, manage and deliver a multi-arts cultural programme, in line with the overall aims and objectives contained within the Cultural, Arts and Heritage Strategy, building and developing relationships with the cultural sector, locally, nationally and internationally.
  • Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * To be responsible for ensuring the effective day to day operation of the centre. This includes the management of operational staff and contracted artists/performers/tutors.
  • To devise, implement and manage a programme of high-quality, innovative multi-art form programmes and projects in the centre including events, exhibitions, creative learning and those supporting creative industries development. This includes both researching and securing local and national/international professional arts activities, key national/international partnerships with cultural organisations and localised community arts programming.
  • To assist with the promotion of the Arts Centre programmes and related activities to maximise public awareness and engagement. This includes providing timely and relevant activities information to the Arts, Marketing and Engagement Officer and colleagues for events guides, social media, website and other online marketing, as well as assisting with the co-ordination and requirements for press launches, events and cultural programme resources (eg exhibition leaflets, education packs).
  • To implement and ensure adherence to operational policies and procedures for the centre to safeguard staff and all users. This includes compliance legislation such as health and safety policies, emergency plans, licensing requirements, financial monitoring and overseeing relevant operational staff.
  • To implement and manage key visitor servicing strategies, enhancing customer satisfaction and strengthening the centre as a key cultural destination in the Causeway Coast and Glens area and Northern Ireland, liaising with key partners including Tourism.
  • Assist the Arts Services Development Manager to identify and secure external funding and sponsorship to develop the centre service and programme, including assisting with grant applications and development of identified professional arts and community oriented cultural projects.
  • Assist the Arts Services Development Manager and external funders with the preparation of evaluative and financial reports.
  • Contribute to the development, delivery, monitoring and review of Council\'s Cultural Services Strategy, associated business plan(s), services, facilities and programmes contained therein.
  • Assist the Arts Services Development Manager to manage resources, budgets and procurement including the timely delivery within budget of all projects and contracts.
  • To act as Duty Officer within the venue as and when required and as key holder.
  • Supervise centre volunteers and work placement programmes.
Criteria

Applicants must, at the closing date for receipt of application forms, have either:
  • A third level qualification, or equivalent, in a relevant subject such as Arts, English or Drama.
AND
  • Be able to demonstrate, on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples at least two years\' experience of developing, managing and delivering a multi-disciplinary arts programme.
OR
  • Alternatively, consideration will be given to candidates who do not possess the required educational qualifications but who can demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have four years\' experience of developing, managing and delivering a multi-disciplinary arts programme.
PLUS

All applicants must demonstrate one year\'s experience in all of the following areas: \xc2\xb7 \xc2\xb7
  • Assisting in the operational management of a cultural facility including health and safety and staff supervision;
  • Income generation including fundraising and grant applications; \xc2\xb7 Marketing and PR; \xc2\xb7 Audience Development;
  • Use of Microsoft Office applications to include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Application Form/ Interview
