The role
As an AR&M Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you will have the opportunity to be involved in complex engineering projects to ensure that the UK's submarines are safe, available, and maintainable. Through your contribution to the team, you will help enable the delivery of the UK's Continuous at Sea Deterrent.
Day-to-day, you'll build upon proven communication skills to convey complex technical details to a wide range of stakeholders developing domain knowledge to resolve problems and support the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Function:
Producing reliability, maintainability, and availability analysis of systems and assets within the submarine enterprise.
Generating claims and arguments for Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) performance predictions and substantiating these with evidence in accordance with standards and processes.
Contribution to the stakeholder programme and Working Group activities associated with AR&M.
Influencing the design of the submarine - utilising reliability modelling techniques to identify design improvements, and maximising ease of support in service.
Developing your technical knowledge of R&M through training and development opportunities.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the AR&M Engineer
A broad range of engineering knowledge to determine solutions to problems and ability to identify areas for future improvement
Ability to take complex engineering problems and resolve them into easy to understand outputs
Be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
Proficient in IT skills and use of MS Office package, and able to multitask objectives.
Demonstrable stakeholder management experience
Qualifications for the AR&M Engineer
HND/HNC in a STEM discipline (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, System, Data or Maths). Experience in lieu of formal education would be considered.
