This Area Manager role is a regional soft services position covering Glasgow, Teesside, and Belfast, offering an exciting opportunity to join a key banking contract within ISS.

The role calls for someone confident in navigating big personalities and challenges while effectively leading a team across cleaning and workplace service streams, with responsibility spanning both operational delivery and process management.





A genuine attention to detail is essential, and the position combines on-site presence with some flexibility to work from home. Regular monthly travel to Teesside and Belfast is required, though these visits can typically be completed within a day.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver services in line with SLAs and detailed service specifications

Continuously review and improve directly delivered and subcontracted services

Manage and develop staff, providing training, development, and clear progression routes

Produce, monitor, and maintain cleaning schedules and work allocations in line with planned maintenance

Ensure compliance with all statutory, health and safety, and client-specific requirements

Recognise high performers and manage underperformance effectively

Maintain 100% adherence to client vetting and compliance standards

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Experienced in managing challenging stakeholders and building effective relationships

Strong people management skills with proven team leadership ability

Skilled in dealing with and managing external contractors

Experience with managing payroll and time and attendance systems (preferred)

Some background in soft services within a facilities or operational environment
