Primary Care Dietitians are proud to deliver the Family Food Programme on behalf of Doncaster Council, who are leader in Compassionate Approaches to Weight.
They have commissioned this Family Food Programme as a new and innovative service to support first-time families from as early as possible in their pregnancy/ adoption process to gain the knowledge, practical skills and tools to give themselves and their child the best possible nutrition.
It is well recognised that having a nutritious and healthy diet is heavily influenced by our surroundings and our circumstances, not simply personal choices.
The focus of the Service is to be on making small, sustainable behavioural changes. These goals will not be limited to traditional targets of weight management and will consider broader outcomes such as, but not limited to, family harmony, self-esteem, physical activity, and food behaviours.
The aim is that families and particularly children are enabled to have a positive and peaceful relationship with food, reducing body image stigma and sustainability if developed through training to other professionals and peer supporters.
As this is a new programme, an evaluation will be carried out from the outset and there is an expectation that this will inform continuous changes and improvements to the programme.

Role Summary:
This role will be key in the operational success and development of the programme.
You will be fully supported by both the Primary Care Dietitians leadership team and the Apprenticeship Training provider to develop your programme and people management skills.
You will develop responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service delivery, including
booking delivery venues and events ,
coordinating the scheduling of filming and editing of the specialist content by the experts and video editor
uploading content to the digital platforms
review and manage social media feeds for appropriateness of content
manage push message notifications to families signed up for the digital platform
recording and directing enquiries into the programme to the most appropriate person in the team
You will support families directly by
Undertaking an initial triage of referrals for appropriateness
booking participants to their preferred/ most suitable option
You will support the improvement of the programme by
monitoring data relating to participants and their successes and difficulties
using this data to, with other members of the team, identify opportunities to improve the delivery of the programme continuously
Supporting the Primary Care Dietitian Leader to create succinct, impactful quarterly reports to demonstrate the progress and success of the programme.
Work with external evaluators to understand the effects of changes made as a result of the continuous improvements made.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Promote the Service
Working with the Family Food Programme team, The Primary Care Dietitians Leadership team and commissioners you will positively promote the service to potential service users and referral agents.
This may require occasionally attending events across Doncaster throughout the life of the project.
2. Room and Event booking
Book the venues for the delivery of the groups, one-to-one clinics and drop-in sessions, ensuring invoices are correctly directed to enable prompt payment for their use.
Book training venues and refreshments for events during years 2 and 3.
3. Coordinate content filming and editing
We will be gaining content about Infant Feeding best practice for the social media platforms initially from experts and then experts and peers. You will coordinate the schedule of filming and editing with the experts and then peers.
4. Participant triage and booking
Speaking directly with first-time families, you will undertake an initial set of triage questions to ensure they are eligible to take part in the programme and help direct them to the most suitable element of the service.
You will then book them into the most appropriate service option
You will send reminders, manage cancellations and non-attendances.
5. Manage Social Media feeds for the output cycle and review messages
We will be delivering part of the service via our digital social media platforms. You will ensure the content on these is providing in a timely way and any comments made by group members are within the agreed rules of the group and social media provider, taking appropriate agreed actions when they are not.
6. Manage Push Messages to subscribed parents
Supporting the PCD Leadership in ensuring the push notifications are received by families who have signed up for them in a timely way and are appropriate to the level of need.
7. Monitor programme progress and effectiveness
Collating data on numbers and types of participants, length of engagement, successes and challenges they have experienced.
Use this data to support continuous improvement and reporting to the commissioners and PCD Board.
8. Support quarterly performance report writing
Write initial drafts of quarterly performance reports to commissioners and other interested parties. You will be supported to create the final version by the PCD Leadership team.
9. Support evaluation of the programme
As this is a new way of delivering service, we will be working with external evaluators. You will liaise with them to provide appropriate data, subject to the Data Protection Act and data sharing agreements being in place and up to date.
You will also support continuous improvement through changing systems and processes used in the programme where participant feedback indicates this could benefit a reasonable proportion of families.
10. Undertake the Level 5 Apprenticeship training.
20% (1 day) of your working week will be set aside for study in years 1 and 2, to help you complete the apprenticeship programme, which will be fully funded.
We want to actively bring that learning back to the workplace to improve the operational management of this service and influence the wider company processes, policies and procedures.

Health & Safety:

Confidentiality & Data Protection:
All staff are required to comply with Primary Care Dietitians' Information Governance Framework, ensuring the secure handling, storage, transmission, and disposal of information in line with best practice and relevant legislation. This includes adherence to the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and NHS Digital standards where applicable.
Staff must complete mandatory Information Governance training and demonstrate an understanding of their responsibilities in maintaining confidentiality, protecting personal data, and supporting safe information sharing within multi-agency settings.
