Contract type:



Fixed term contract (13 months to 24 months dependent on the level of apprenticeship)

Working Hours:



30 hours/week

24 weeks delivery- 6 hours dedicated planning and apprenticeship course time

Purpose:


To develop your coaching skill set through an Apprenticeship (Level 2 - 4 apprenticeships on offer) within our community trust Activities Department. This will be on programmes such as holiday camps, after school clubs, football development centres, PE lesson, lunch time clubs, preschool sessions and more!

For the duration of the course, you will receive ongoing support from our activities senior leadership team to help you with your learning, with opportunities to put this into practice in a community setting.

Ongoing throughout your apprenticeship you will be able to access CPD and further courses such as the Level 2 Multi-Skills award and courses through The Premier League Charitable Fund.

You will follow the Trust's Safeguarding policies and procedures, with the welfare of Children, young people and vulnerable adults being of paramount importance in everything you do.

Main Duties



To assist a lead coach with activity sessions across our department which include: Nursery activity sessions, extracurricular clubs, in school PE, wrap around sessions, holiday football camps, holiday and food camps, evening football development sessions.

This can include setting up sessions / tidying away, supporting small groups and providing feedback to participants as and when required.

Ongoing:



All safeguarding procedures are followed

Coaching equipment is looked after and maintained throughout

To adhere to a strict code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to Reading Football Club and its operation.

To be presentable at all times when working and demonstrate that you can represent the face of the club in the manner expected.

To maintain and follow Reading Football Club Community Trust's policies and procedures (including but not limited to Safeguarding (Child Protection), Health, Safety, Equal Opportunity, Data Protection and Mental Health and Wellbeing).

Ensure your DBS remains up to date by renewing it every 3 years, as well as ensuring all training requirements for your role are up to date.

To act in a manner that supports the Club's Vision and Values at all times.

Person Specification:



Qualifications



Essential:



GCSE English & Maths at Grade C (or equivalent)

Desirable:



NGB Sports coaching level 1 or above FA Talent ID Level 1 Safeguarding children certificate First aid certificate Educated to A Level or equivalent

Experience:



Desirable:



Working with young people of a variety of different ages (evidenced in interview)

Knowledge:



Essential:



Using computer systems to access work and submit in a timely manor - such as Microsoft OneDrive. Age appropriate language and games to engage your audience.

Desirable:



Understanding of PE national curriculum Understanding of England Learning structure and how to access learning opportunities through county or national FA

Full UK driving licence and access to a car
