We are seeking an experienced Applications Analyst to join our VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) Team in the Teaching and Learning IT function. The purpose of this role is to support and maintain the Digital Learning Environment for the University of Manchester, ensuring that it meets the ongoing requirements of the University\'s teaching and learning strategy.

The Team
The VLE Support Team is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and implementation of the University of Manchester\'s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and associated eLearning applications. The team consists of three members: a VLE Manager, VLE DevOps, and a VLE Application Analyst.
The VLE Application Analyst is responsible for providing technical support to users of the VLE, as well as troubleshooting problems and resolving issues.
The VLE Support Team works closely with other departments across the University, including IT Services, Central and Faculty Teaching and Learning teams, and Student Services departments. The team is committed to providing a high-quality service to users of the VLE, and to ensuring that the VLE is a valuable resource for learning and teaching at the University of Manchester.
The Role
You will be responsible for providing expertise in the installation, configuration, and upgrade of a cloud hosted VLE such as Blackboard or Canvas as well as supporting and configuring other VLEs (Virtual Learning Environment) or eLearning tools such as Moodle and Turnitin. You should have knowledge of teaching and learning applications and how they are integrated into other technology that supports the student lifecycle.
You will work closely with various departments throughout the University including the Digital Learning team, Faculty eLearning teams, the wider ITS team and other key University stakeholders. As such, you will need to have excellent communication skills, experience of business analysis and reporting to a wide range of key stakeholders.
