You will work closely with the Behaviour Support Practitioner (BSP), Operations Manager, Support Coordinators, and support workers to ensure the safe, ethical, and appropriate use of restrictive practices where necessary.

Provide guidance and advice to support workers and the care team on the implementation of Behaviour Support Plans and safe strategies for managing behaviours of concern. Conduct regular reviews of authorised restrictive practices, ensuring expiry dates are tracked and reauthorisation is completed as required. Work closely with the management team to respond to incidents involving restrictive practices, ensure reportable incidents are submitted via

PRODA

where required, and participate in incident reviews. Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the human rights of participants at all times. Ensure all documentation, including approvals, plans, and incident reports, are maintained to the highest professional standard. Stay current with changes in NDIS guidelines, legislation, and best practices related to restrictive practices and positive behaviour support.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Demonstrated experience working as an Authorised Program Officer (APO) in a disability or community services setting. Strong understanding of the

High attention to detail and strong organisational and administrative skills. Commitment to safeguarding participant rights and supporting ethical, person-centred service delivery. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet reporting deadlines.

Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Behaviour Support, Disability Services, Community Services, or a related field. Current or previous appointment as an

Authorised Program Officer

under Victorian Disability Services legislation (or demonstrated eligibility for appointment). NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance. Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain). Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle (preferred). Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (in line with government requirements).

Desirable Attributes:

Previous experience in NDIS-registered environments. Strong ethical standards and commitment to participant choice and control. Ability to build collaborative relationships with participants, families, staff, and external stakeholders. Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
